IPAS does not exist to replace personal perspectives or invalidate individual experiences. Methods such as spirit communication apps, ITC devices, and audio‑based “spirit boxes” have repeatedly failed to demonstrate evidentiary value. Their continued use reflects familiarity rather than effectiveness, and their results are consistently explained by known psychological, environmental, and technological factors.
The institute recognizes that many individuals approach anomalous experiences with a sense of curiosity, hope, or personal meaning. These motivations are valid. However, meaningful progress requires methods capable of producing contextualized, interpretable, and repeatable insight. IPAS provides a framework that allows the field to evolve responsibly: one that acknowledges the appeal of the unknown while grounding interpretation in approaches that reduce error, minimize influence, and avoid reinforcing misconceptions.
This does not eliminate the sense of wonder that draws people to the field. Instead, it reframes that wonder within a structure that encourages clarity, critical thinking, and informed engagement. Individuals may continue to explore new locations, pursue fieldwork, and consider the “what if,” but with an understanding of the limitations of current tools and the importance of methods that can withstand scrutiny.
IPAS represents a necessary step toward elevating anomalous studies to a level where future scientific engagement becomes possible. It offers a disciplined alternative to practices that have historically produced misleading or unverifiable results, and it provides a path forward for those who wish to explore anomalous experiences with integrity, curiosity, and a commitment to methodological evolution.
