What IPAS Is Not

Not a Belief System

IPAS does not promote supernatural claims, spiritual doctrines, or fixed interpretations.

It does not ask the public to believe in anything, accept unverified assertions, or adopt a worldview.

The discipline is grounded in observation, context, and responsible analysis — not belief.

Not Entertainment

IPAS is not part of the paranormal entertainment industry.

It does not stage investigations, dramatize experiences, or use fear‑based narratives. Its purpose is documentation, clarity, and public understanding, not performance or spectacle.

Not Ghost Hunting

IPAS does not use spirit boxes, apps, gadgets, or methods associated with ghost‑hunting culture.

It does not claim communication with the dead, does not interpret random noise as evidence, and does not rely on tools with no scientific or methodological validity.

Not Speculative

IPAS does not fill gaps with assumptions, supernatural explanations, or ungrounded theories.

It does not present speculation as fact or treat personal interpretation as evidence. The discipline maintains interpretive neutrality and acknowledges the limits of what can be known.

Not Clinical or Diagnostic

IPAS does not diagnose mental health conditions, interpret symptoms, or provide therapeutic guidance.

It does not replace medical, psychological, or professional evaluation. Its role is cultural, historical, environmental, and experiential — not clinical.

Not Advocacy for Claims

IPAS does not validate or endorse individual claims of paranormal experience.

It documents, contextualizes, and analyzes without declaring experiences “real,” “not real,” “paranormal,” or “supernatural.”

The discipline focuses on understanding, not affirming.

Not a Replacement for Critical Inquiry

IPAS does not position itself as the final authority.

It encourages questioning, debate, and examination of methods — including its own.

The discipline exists to elevate the conversation, not to shut it down.

Not a Closed System

IPAS is not rigid, dogmatic, or static.

It evolves as documentation grows, patterns emerge, and cultural understanding expands.

Its structure is designed to adapt responsibly over time.
